What is an RSS Feed?
The online module this week spoke about the use of RSS Feeds. As mentioned in My Experience with RSS Feeds blog post, this tool puts blogs and websites that I have subscribed to in one place so that I can stay up to date on each post that is made. In exploring this tool I created my own RSS Feed using a tool called Feedly.

Would this tool fit into my PLE?
Yes! I could absolutely incorporate this tool into my personal learning environment because it keeps me up to date with these sites. In welcome RSS feeds into my PLE, it will expand my learning environment and possibly open more learning opportunities for me. In considering my Feedly read, I would categorize this tool to be an
organization tool. The organization category makes sense for this tool because the purpose of it is to organize the blogs or
websites that I read on a regular basis.
What do RSS Feed Readers contribute to your work in building knowledge about digital literacy, and citizenship?
One of nine elements of digital citizenship is digital literacy. RSS feed readers contribute to building my digital literacy due to the knowledge I gain from the feed and use of the RSS tool. By subscribing to blogs or websites, I am keeping myself informed by using this tool to keep me updated on all posts. I was also able to explore the use of different tools and find how to properly use them. As a digital citizen I want to use technology for a positive purpose and follow sites that are beneficial to my learning and will help me gain knowledge through the means of different technologies.
What's an item of interest from your reader?
An item of interest from my
feed reader I want to share with you is the blog Organic Beauty Talk. This past
year I have become very conscious of the products I am using for my body. I
think we can all agree that natural beauty care has become a popular topic
recently and there are a lot more choices to choose organic. This blog has
informed my own learning by clearly indicating what to and what not to look for
in face, body, makeup, and hair products.
What are we without our
health? Everyone always says this, but its true! I think it is beneficial for
everyone to know what types of chemicals or harmful ingredients are in the
everyday products they use. After exploring the ingredients we should avoid, I
noticed that a majority of them were in the products that were sitting on my
counter.
This blog has
enlightened me on these things and I now purchase more organic and natural
choices. If you’re interested in organic and natural beauty care I highly recommend
checking this blog out. A specific blog post I want to try out is the DIY Organic Coconut Honey Face Scrub & Mask. Organic Beauty Talk also shares a awesome video on their website, check it out!
